The problem

Guests pick up the paper schedule on arrival and lose it by day two

Every holiday park runs on information. What is on tonight? Where is the kids' club? What time do the swimming lessons start? When does the restaurant open? Do we need to book the archery session or can we just turn up?

Right now, most of that information lives in a folded programme handed out at check-in — the one that ends up in the caravan drawer, gets rained on, or simply gets lost. By day two of a seven-night stay, guests are back at reception asking the same questions the laminated card was supposed to answer.

Activities fill up because guests did not know they needed to book in advance. The restaurant runs out of covers because demand was visible only to people who checked the small print. The bar has a special menu that nobody orders because the chalkboard outside is unreadable in the evening. A screen in the right place — updated daily, visible at a glance — removes all of this friction.

Why it matters

What information friction costs your park every season

Entertainment undersells itself

A headline act in the Clubhouse with 40 empty seats because guests did not know about it — or thought the programme from Tuesday still applied. Every empty seat is a guest who had a worse experience than they should have.

Activities book out invisibly

Swimming lessons, archery, the morning yoga class — they fill up, but guests who would have signed up find out only when they arrive and are turned away. The disappointment lands on your team.

Menus printed once, wrong all season

The seasonal menu in the restaurant changes. The bar adds a new dish. The ice cream parlour has new flavours. None of this reaches guests because the printed menu from opening week is still the one on display.

Reception answers the same questions all day

"What's on tonight?" "When does the pool open?" "Is the mini-golf free?" Every repetitive question pulls a team member away from the work that actually requires them.

The solution

Digital signage for holiday parks that keeps every guest informed across the whole site

NowBoard is digital signage software designed for schedules, menus, and activity information — not advertising loops or complex media campaigns. Plug a NowBoard Player into any screen across your park and display up-to-date, relevant information for guests and staff within minutes.

Your entertainment manager, bar supervisor, or reception team can update screens across the entire park from a single phone or laptop. Update tonight's entertainment programme at 3pm. Change the restaurant special when the morning delivery arrives. Post a weather-related activity change in seconds. The right information reaches every guest, wherever they are on your site.

  1. Plug in NowBoard Players across your site

Use NowBoard Player Pro devices (£139 each) on screens in the Clubhouse entrance, reception, restaurant, activity centre, and anywhere else guests gather. Or use the NowBoard Player App on existing Android TV devices already on site.

  2. Add your content by area

Entertainment schedule for the Clubhouse screen. Activity timetable for the sports centre. Menu board for the restaurant. Shuttle times for the transport display. Each screen shows the content relevant to its location.

  3. Update from anywhere, instantly

Change tonight's headline act, update the pool timetable, add a weather warning. Every connected screen refreshes automatically. Update from your office, from your phone on site, or from home before the park opens.

Use cases

Six ways holiday parks use NowBoard every season

Evening entertainment schedule

Tonight's show, tomorrow's headline act — on screen at the Clubhouse entrance

A NowBoard display at the Clubhouse or entertainment venue entrance shows tonight's programme: doors open, supporting act, headline show, late night entertainment. Tomorrow's schedule, the week ahead. Guests walking past the screen at any point during the day know exactly what is on and at what time. When the programme changes — and it always does at some point during the season — update the screen in seconds. No reprinting, no chalkboard amendments, no reception team fielding the same question all afternoon.

A seaside holiday park displays the week's entertainment programme on a large screen at the Clubhouse main entrance. The entertainment manager updates it each Sunday evening for the week ahead, with daily tweaks as needed. Guest complaints about "not knowing what was on" have essentially stopped.

Activity centre timetable

Swimming lessons, sports sessions, kids club — booking status visible at a glance

NowBoard displays the full activity timetable at the entrance to the swimming pool, sports hall, or activity centre: session times, age groups, whether booking is required, and current availability. When a session fills up, update the display to show "fully booked" before more guests make the trip across site. When a session is cancelled due to weather or staff absence, update every relevant screen immediately. For guests planning their day, this information eliminates uncertainty and improves their overall park experience.

A holiday resort with an indoor swimming pool and sports hall displays the daily timetable on screens at both venue entrances. Session availability is updated throughout the day. Guests no longer arrive at pool sessions that are full — a change that reduced complaints during peak weeks significantly.

Restaurant and bar menu board

Today's specials, service times and allergen information — updated when the menu changes

NowBoard replaces printed menus and chalkboards in your restaurant, bar and food outlets. Display today's menu, daily specials, allergen information, and service times. When the kitchen runs out of a dish, remove it from the display. When a new seasonal ingredient arrives, add the special before the lunch service. For parks with multiple dining outlets, each location manages its own menu display independently while a central administrator can view and update all of them from one dashboard.

Kids club programme

What's on, where, and for which age groups — the first question every family asks

NowBoard displays the kids club programme in the entrance area, at reception, and outside the club venue itself. Morning session, afternoon crafts, themed evening activities, age group requirements. Parents planning their day around their children's activities see everything they need without queuing at reception. When the programme changes because of weather or a themed week, update every display in one step. For larger parks with more than one children's venue, display each programme on the screen nearest to that location.

A large caravan park with a dedicated children's club displays the week's programme on a screen in the reception area and a second screen outside the club building. Parents know what their children will be doing each day from the moment they check in.

Shuttle bus timing board

When the buggy runs to the beach and back — visible at every stop

NowBoard displays the shuttle bus or buggy timetable at each stop across the park: departure times, route, whether booking is required. When the timetable changes for high season or a special event, update all stop displays simultaneously. For larger sites where walking to the beach, the restaurant or the Clubhouse is a significant journey, a visible and accurate transport timetable is the difference between guests enjoying a relaxed break and guests feeling stranded.

Reception welcome screen

Today's highlights — the first thing guests see when they arrive at the park

A NowBoard screen in the reception area shows today's top activities, entertainment highlights, weather conditions, and any important notices for guests. It acts as a daily briefing for families checking in or dropping by reception to ask questions. A guest who has just arrived and sees "Kids Club opens at 10am — limited spaces, book at reception" is primed to ask the right question immediately. A screen showing "Pool closed 12–2pm for maintenance" answers a question before anyone has to ask it.

Why NowBoard

Why holiday parks choose NowBoard over printed programmes and chalkboards

Most digital signage systems designed for hospitality require significant installation, ongoing technical support, and per-screen licences that make site-wide deployment expensive. NowBoard is the alternative: deploy as many screens as you need, pay per area of content rather than per screen, and let your team update everything without AV expertise.

One Location = unlimited screens

If all screens in the Clubhouse show tonight's entertainment, they count as one Location at £10/month. Deploy as many TVs as you need without the per-screen cost that makes large-site signage unaffordable.

Works on screens you already have

Every holiday park has TVs in bars, restaurants, and reception areas. Plug a NowBoard Player Pro (£139) into any HDMI port. Or use the NowBoard Player App on an existing Android TV device. No new screen purchase required.

Seasonal billing — pay only when you're open

NowBoard is month-to-month with no annual contract. Pause or cancel in your off-season and restart when you open again. No paying for software during the months the park is closed.

Any team member can update it

The entertainment manager, the bar supervisor, the kids club coordinator — if they can send a text message, they can update a NowBoard screen. Role-based access means each team member updates only their area.

Works offline

Park wifi can drop in remote locations. If the connection goes, NowBoard screens keep displaying the last update and sync automatically when the signal returns. Guests never see a blank screen.

FAQ

Common questions about holiday park digital signage

Our park runs seasonally — do we pay all year?

No. NowBoard is monthly with no contract. Pause or cancel in your off-season and restart when you open again. You only pay during the months your park is operating and your screens are in use.

We have a large site with many screens — is that one Location?

If all screens show the same content (for example, tonight's entertainment programme in the Clubhouse), yes — one Location covers all of them, however many screens that is. If different areas show different content (restaurant menu, activity timetable, reception notices), each distinct content area is its own Location at £10/month.

Can different staff members manage different screens?

Yes. NowBoard has role-based access. Your entertainment manager updates the Clubhouse display without being able to change the restaurant menu. Your bar team updates the drinks board without touching the activity timetable. Each person manages their own area.

What happens if the park's wifi goes down?

NowBoard screens keep displaying the last content update. When the connection returns, they sync automatically. Guests never see a blank or error screen.

Can we use screens we already have on site?

Yes. Any TV with an HDMI port works with the NowBoard Player Pro (£139). If you already have Android TV devices on site, the NowBoard Player App runs on any Google Play Certified Android or Google TV device — no additional hardware purchase required.

Keep every guest informed — from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave

Your guests came for a great experience. When they know what is on, where to go, and what is available, they use more of what your park offers. Better information means better reviews, more repeat bookings, and a reception team that spends its time welcoming guests rather than answering the same questions on repeat.
